Congratulations to Lauren Mitchell for winning the recent Individual gymnastics title at the National Championships held in Perth. In the teams event on the Sunday she came off the uneven bars, and also her pet event the beam. However we must note that these were new routines with high degrees of difficulty.
Monday night she went out and nailed both, as well as the Floor to win all three events.
A medal at the Commonwealth Games looks very likely, and if she can keep improving her already high standards London in 2012 could see the highest finish by and Australian gymnast.
Congratulations to Lauren and also the gymnastics program at the Western Australian Institute of Sport.
